Valverde completed a perfect 24-pass move with a goal

Real Madrid took the lead in the Clasico through Federico Valverde, with the Uruguayan midfielder putting the finishing touch to a perfect 24-pass move orchestrated by the visitors at the Camp Nou.

In the sixth minute of play, Real Madrid kept possession wonderfully well, showing a great deal of patience in their pursuit of an opening goal and it was their best move of the season.

Karim Benzema laid on an inch-perfect pass to the onrushing South American, who would then place a fine side-footed shot past Neto in the Barcelona goal. The move itself passed through all areas of the pitch, but it was Toni Kroos who unlocked the defence as Sergio Ramos dealt with forward pressure from Lionel Messi.

Ramos laid the ball to Nacho, who fired the ball to Benzema who then made the decisive assist, with the French forward showing remarkable vision to see Valverde’s run.

With this goal, the Uruguayan is now Los Blancos’ second highest scorer this term with two goals, and is already showing a greater aptitude for getting forward and contributing than he did in his debut campaign.
